Live Free Campaign

LIVE FREE @ School

"The students really enjoyed coming up with something to give up and the community was very generous in participating in the campaign.
It created a positive energy throughout the school and ties into character development and education. If your school has a breakfast program it is a fantastic fundraiser. If your school does not have one, it highlights the importance of helping others."

- 2009 Live Free @ School Participant Palmerston Public School Program Coordinator, Melinda Sims, who raised over $600 for the campaign.

Support Nutrition Programs in Your Schools.
Participate in Live Free @ School.

In the 2008/2009 school year over $368,000 was distributed to 58 student nutrition programs in Guelph, Wellington and Dufferin County. By participating in Live Free, your school can help to sustain the future of these programs and the 7 new programs for the current school year. Challenge your students to give up something for one day for those in our community who are living without and donate a toonie to the campaign.

In Live Free @ School, each child makes a pledge to Live Free of something that they take for granted each day and donates a Toonie to the campaign. All dollars raised will stay within Guelph, Wellington and Dufferin County to support the Food and Friends program.

In 2009, students challenged themselves to give up treats such as candy, playing video games, their computer, chocolate or watching their favourite TV show.
