Live Free Day A Big Success!
3.8.2010
Live Free Day on Friday, March 5th was a complete success! It was difficult to go anywhere on Friday and not have at least one person in the room who was taking the Live Free challenge. Our community was buzzing! Thank you to everyone who made a sacrifice for those in our community who are living without.
The current campaign total is $30,500 - with several schools and workplaces left to report their totals! A nutritious breakfast costs just $1.10, which means we can provide 27,725 breakfasts with the money raised from Live Free. Thank you to everyone who supported the Live Free Campaign this year.

Today is Live Free Day! Over 28,000 students, 35 workplaces and 16 individuals will be making sacrifices for those in our community who are going without. Instead of enjoying a treat that they enjoy each day, they will be donating that money to the Food and Friends program.
If you are not part of this group of people taking part in Live Free, we are challenging you to make a sacrifice right now to help us provide nutritious snacks and meals for children in Guelph, Wellington and Dufferin who are going to school too hungry to learn.
To make a donation to Live Free simply click the button above. Your donation will help Food and Friends fill tummies.

Orangeville Banner Article: Live Free to Support Nutrition Programs
3.4.2010
Do you drink a cup of coffee or munch on a cookie every day? If so, The Children’s Foundation of Guelph and Wellington wants you to consider giving it up this Friday (March 5) to support local food and nutrition programs for students. "The premise is we’re asking people to give up something that they take for granted for one day, such as not go and grab a coffee for the day and donate that $1.50 to Food and Friends,” Glenna Pengelly, co-ordinator of major special events for The Children’s Foundation of Guelph and Wellington, said. "A lot of people are surprised it costs us $1.10 to provide a healthy breakfast.”
